Easy to use JT viewer, based on the specification of the JT ISO standardLiteBox3D

Desktop and web based viewer for JT and TIFF

Technia Transcat provides two different alternatives of LiteBox3D. Both versions are based on the same core technology, but differentiate in the functionality and are designed for running in different environments.

Desktop viewer

LiteBox3D Desktop viewer is a fully featured Windows platform offering basic viewing functionality, like viewing, measuring, clipping, printing and more. This free of cost viewer can be extended with add-on applications for IP protection, model comparison and quality validation. LiteBox3D Pro extends the capabilities of the free viewer with redlining and editing properties. More features will be added continuously.

Web viewer

LiteBox3D Web viewer is based on HTML5 and can be used in any modern browser and on any platform. No client-side installation or browser plugins are required. The 3D models are stored at any time on the server – only tessellated information are send to the browser on end device which ensures a high security of your data. Installation, configuration and updates are done on the server. LiteBox3D Web viewer is equipped with powerful APIs that allows to easily integrated it in any browser based application or portal.

Your Benefits

Benefits

Open Standards

Technia Transcat supports the CPO Initiative (Code of PLM Openness) and demonstrates with LiteBox3D that the JT format is an open ISO standard. LiteBox3D is reading the JT format based on the specification of the JT ISO 14306:2012 and not using any vendor or re-engineered toolkit.

High performance

By directly accessing the JT model based on the ISO description as well as the 64 Bit support, LiteBox3D is able to view large CAD models in the JT format. Furthermore, the function of multithreading ensures a fast loading of files.

User-friendly interface

LiteBox3D is characterized by its user-friendliness that users highly value. Since LiteBox3D is self-explanatory regarding its functions, users do not need any previous CAD knowledge for measuring, clipping and comparing assemblies.

Simple integration

In most cases, geometry data are transferred between various PDM and ERP systems. To ensure an information exchange between different applications, LiteBox3D has an interface based on JAVA Swing and Eclipse.

Industry Trusted Solution

Daimler has embedded LiteBox3D in its supplier package to help suppliers delivering appropriate JT data. Suppliers can use LiteBox3D and LiteComply to fulfill OEM requirements as well as streamlining their own processes with JT.

LiteBox3D as a platform for process applications

Based on LiteBox3D, users are able to run a model comparison between two JT files by using xCompare. To reduce the model content for IP protection, LiteDrop is an excellent solution. LiteComply allows the verification of data quality integrated in LiteBox3D. Further applications will be added continuously.

Free version for commercial usage

LiteBox3D may be used unlimited for commercial usage.

Functions

Precise Measuring
LiteBox3D offers various tools for measuring based on tessellated data. For measuring the radius and the distances exactly, measuring points can be positioned on body edges.

Generation of sections
Slideable section planes can be defined for displaying details in the interior of a component. For the active session, this information is stored in a list that and can be displayed or changed.

PMI & Annotation
Any manufacturing relevant information of the JT model will be displayed in LiteBox3D. Using Cross higlighting the surfaces that are connected to the PMI are highlighted.

Model comparison
xCompare that is integrated in LiteBox3D compares two JT parts or assemblies. The differences are presented interactively and are stated in a report. For more information about xCompare, please follow this link.

Properties Filter, Print and Export
LiteBox3D presents the metadata in form of CAD properties that exist in the JT model. Properties can be filtered by name using wildcards or regular expressions. The filter definition can be exported to a file and imported on another machine. In addition, all or selected properties can be printed or exported as CSV file.

Reduction of model content
For protection of intellectual properties, LiteDrop removes model information that is selected by the user such as PMIs, B-Rep and attributes.

Presentation of model views
LiteBox3D supports the “layer filter methodology” that allows illustrating pre adjusted views. Additionally, PMI views can be used for easily accessing the 3D tolerancing and annotations.

Print model views
JT model views can be printed in different visualizations: shaded geometry, visible outlines or both.

Snapshot
The function Snapshot allows users to take picture of the current view to insert it in other applications.

Selectable mouse profile
The user is able to switch the mouse control between the CATIA and NX operation.

Support of different formats
LiteBox3D supports the 3D format JT, the formats PLMXML, STEP AP242 XML for product structure description as well as the TIFF format for drawings.

Support of watermarks
Watermarks are displayed if they are stored in the JT model.

Markup, Redlining
For design reviews the markup function allows to show and hide parts, change colors of components, create sections and measurements and add notes, requests and instructions by redlining elements such as lines and text. The markup features are stored in a separate file, so that the source JT file remains untouched by the markup operations. Red-lining elements can be created with LiteBox3D Pro whereas existing markups can be read and displayed also in the free LiteBox3D release.

Edit properties
LiteBox3D Pro enables the user to add, edit, and delete properties of JT parts and assemblies (monolithic, fully shattered and per part).
